3 Ways My Toddlers Help Unlock my Potential

My daughter pointed out to me recently that having a toddler around is a fantastic experience. I agree with her .

I can think of 3 quick ways in which I have seen my toddlers at home help unlock my potential. Having them up and running around at this age, really brings out my potential, realizing skills I never knew I had.

1. I never knew I could teach numbers until we got LeapFrog

2. Making the computer simple for both them and myself made me follow Tech Savvy Mama and what a difference. Now I am much more self-confident

3.  I used to THINK I could always organize a day. Now I KNOW I can to the delight of all at home.

It’s all called how to unlock my potential as a parent, a caregiver, a grandparent.

So simple and I bet we could think of more. Toddlers are full time and constant in that they need the exercise physically and cognitively. The only problem is can we keep up with them. If we use the opportunity to see how much our own potential is developing then it is a win-win situation for them and us. One thing that helps is having activities that allow them to interact with other toddlers as part of the activity rather than relying on you solely. Less stress.

As I reflected on the different ways that my toddlers helped unlock my potential and made me remember who I am, I realised that a lot of people have the problem of free outdoors. In other words we don’t all have weather that is perfect all year round and then they can go outside at any time. For those with this delight, please , please try and get your toddlers / preschoolers outside as much as you can. If for nothing else, remember the health properties of Vitamin D that we take so much for granted!

Whatever else, we can only grow with our toddlers. As they grow we grow, and toddlers help us to unlock that potential hidden under layers of fearing to do the wrong thing. Parenting doesn’t come with a manual. What we need to know are the age appropriate behaviours and then find out as many ways as possible to achieve these. We hope to help. Parenting does have its fun days!

Drop us a note with any questions. Our pleasure to help. Peace
