Am I too old to have a baby? Another baby…..

There is so much out there putting the fear of everything in us older women. Always telling us we are too old to have a baby. If you follow the media it seems so much can go wrong once you pass 40 or 50. Okay so the possibility of miscarriages increases etc. No more than 2 or 3 Cesareans. And so on. But the fact of the matter is since we know all about this we will have to take care to live a careful pregnancy.

Isn’t that what it is all about!!!

Am I too old to have a baby?

Christmas is coming and everyone with children will be shopping and showing us how great a family with kids is.

“so when are you going to start?”

or”Still no kids eh”…

or some other thoughtless remark.

Well the bible tells us that being barren is not so bad after all as the way the world is going, it’s sometimes better to be childless. The thing is having a baby is a lot of work from pregnancy to childbirth and onward.

Let’s look at it

Too old to have children

As a parent that realizes that you are now too old to have a baby, you have to make sure that you make friends with parents of the children that are your child’s age. This will allow you to really “talk” with parents who “know” what you are going through. Not only does this help you to feel better and understand that you are not the only one feeling confused or your child is not the only child doing these crazy things; but it also helps when parents share their techniques or ideas and results with other parents.

Also if you are just worried about having another child as you grow older, mixing with other parents makes you realise technology is on your side. Relax and talk it over with them. Parents come from different age groups with lots of different knowledge to share. Talking to parents old and young is where you get to empower yourself with practical knowledge.

So age matters!!

Again  the parent’s age matters. I know many persons who are now grandparents but they never had any of their own children. How about that. They are now too old to have a baby but they are grandparents!!

So the solution is Forget about why age matters! No children? then face the fact because of 3 realities

1. you wanted it to be so. After all what’s wrong with cats and dogs as children substitutes
2. you don’t have the money to go through all those tests and treatments that are now available for changing your status
3. you have decided that that is how it is going to be right now, and you are fine with it

I am now too old to have a baby using the traditional methods. So there. It means that as a parent, whether it be by proxy, adoption, preferring small pets, care for others, In vitro or chance you need to go out and mix and mingle with the whole wide wonderful range of other parents and you will find gems of knowledge from the strangest of situations.

Laugh and play a lot with the children and with your friends and family. Remember each and every stage of our life can bring us great happiness and experiences as well as some big challenges

Knowing this and knowing people, friends and family and other children at each of these stages allows you to be the best you can be at Your age

Age ain’t nothing but a number!
