IT and savvy

It’s not fair you know

You have to have the money, the know-how, the connections, the faith, the, the, . It’s endless. I think the greatest roadblock is the money and the know how.

What am I talking about? Getting into this blogging and publishing and writing arena. It’s a challenge.

I made the point in an earlier post http://www.eawpublications.com/?p=658   where I realised there are only a few people in the world using and having access to the internet. So it is as if we are talking to ourselves. And yet, it is important what we write because those of us who are here do read and learn and communicate in every sense of the word (pun intended). For us parenting is not a one-off event. It doesn’t even have a timeline beyond some genius deciding that nine months in the womb doesn’t count. Parenting starts from conception and goes on endlessly. That I have chosen to zero in on pre-schoolers is simply because I feel that it is easy to not recognise shortfalls in our communication patterns each day. As our children grow and learn how to answer, react, interface with others it is affecting how they interact with us, how they interpret what we are saying and asking them to do or not to do.

So as they grow we have to keep up with them and realise that the new patterns of communication are definitely building new ways of communication and so on. We have to keep up with our children rather than trying to keep up with the times as what is important to others around them only become important to them if they impact their relationship with us. Listen to what they say everyday about the most innocuous things. How do they see themselves being affected by what is happening. How much are they asking for your take on what happened. They spend so many hours in the school environment with some other teacher that we have to be sure we are on the same page or at least in the same ‘book’. That’s why I suppose I really feel holidays is all about being with them or with their being with some family member, rather than carting them off to a camp with other people again.

Any comments here?

  1. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult
to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera.

    Outstanding Blog!
