A lack of sleep makes you cranky. Doctors agree that a good night’s sleep can positively affect from your blood pressure to your agility. Even your weight. Single Moms and Dads often find the day getting too short. Here are five benefits that should convince you to have a good night’s rest.

  1. We use sleep to relax, to diminish anxiety, to rest our eyes, and to make us sharper. We may choose to nap throughout the day, but these strategies do not relieve fatigue. The brain does not recharge and its numerous tissues simply deteriorate. Research shows that single Moms and Dads need more sleep not less sleep.
  2. When we sleep, the body restocks energy supplies that are depleted during the day. When you sleep the body figures out what is happening and tries to help. In this way it encourages some organs to be more active while sleeping and others to calm down.
  3. Sleep plays a big part in quality of our lives because information on the body processes is processed during sleep. In some ways, sleep is the body’s time to revert back to the same state before it started. Sleep is important because it recharges the brain cells.
  4. Sleep allows the body to regenerate and rejuvenate itself, which is why stressed-out people can have sleep issues. Single Moms and Dads often find they carry home the stress of the day into their home
  5. When we focus all of our attention on something that we found stressful and causing us to be anxious and upset, we put additional work on our minds than it can cope with. Sleep, on the other hand, heals the mind, which decreases the stress hormones that sew the body and mind together.
    REMEMBER….Lack of sleep can cause moodiness, anxiety, and poor concentration. It can also lead to too much nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol use, which add to the list of awful things that some people do to their bodies in order to sleep. These all destroy many more things than it can fix.
  6. Having a good night’s sleep might mean you have to experiment with the amount of hours you really need. Sleep can help to relax and restore energy and clarity, which is a big piece of being in control of your emotions. Over-stimulation, lack of sleep, and exhaustion can altogether destroy everything that we need to live.
