A book to help calm down kids

Just when you think you have it under control there are new Covid restrictions. Endless meetings about what to do at school…… Here are tips on how to find a book to help calm down kids.

Sometimes I feel out-of-it. New teachers, NEW protocols Changing every week. And then some parents in the group know and I don’t. How do they know what’s happening?? Am I backward or just plain slow?

All I hear from the young one is::
No I don’t want soup again today. OR
Stupid questions keep coming in to my head like….Are vegans better at starving than meat eaters?

And then I noticed that Abigail who is online at school, suddenly she was either getting it or losing it. Nothing in between. No happy medium that allows for a day of calm or peaceful communication.

Suddenly I remembered when I was young and things got a bit frazzled, I would turn to a book. One I really liked. Maybe I could find one if I knew what to look for.

So I came up with:

EAW Publications has a book designed to ease the pain and calm down kids. It’s a new series starting with the prelude “The Adventures of Tweet Tweet”. Tweet Tweet teaches kids how to use emotions positively. Just like the negative emotions we are always learning, here we learn how to show Joy, Love, Curiosity.

The series Tweet Tweet & Friends features family, neighbors, friends in PENGUIN WORLD. The star is Tweet Tweet herself an awesome pink penguin And it’s just one great adventure after another.

How do I buy a good kids book? ANSWER These Questions

Price: What can you afford now?

Access: Can I buy this book online ?

Accessibility: How long will this book be available?

The real question however is:

How do you know that the book you are looking at is THE book that you want? Well I always think the best judge is the person who will be reading the book. Kiching!! Make sure you carry the person with you, the person who will be the owner of the book. If this is not possible, drop a few hints and check the reaction.

One last question:

How do you chose the right book?

The answer is in the following questions you must ask yourself.

  • Why are you looking for a book?
  • Who decided you wanted a book and as you get closer to selection:?
  • Is the cover attractive, like what you would like to see around you,
  • Is it at the reading level that you need?

Try and find a moment to relax. Let the young one realize that reading is an admirable pass time and it will all work out!! Take my word for it !!
