Single Dads: How to Choose the Right Sleep
Single Dads, it is impossible to get through the day without sleep. Choose the right sleep means sleep in the day or sleep in the night. You need sleep, both deep sleep and a nap.. When you are tired constantly, it makes you transmit errors in thinking, and information processing. In those times, it brings stress to your nervous system which in turn interrupts your sleep pattern.
Choosing the right sleep for the Baby
Begin by choosing the right sleep for your baby. When you choose the right sleep, your baby will be able to get sufficient sleep all throughout the night. If you do it while his or her eyes are bright, he/she will be able to see the whole of the room with clear vision. So this means she/he will only be taking a nap.
To get better rest, single dads, it is important that you recognize your baby’s sleep time. They quickly develop their own pattern. If you want to have a good night’s rest listen to what they are telling you.
Sleep cues from the Baby
In the first few months of life you will recognize the baby’s sleep cues. They serve as a huge help to you and the baby who has not yet learned to recognize the separation between day and night.
Some parents say it is their way of training their baby with night time discipline. To do this they may put their baby under the blanket when he/she appears to have fallen asleep so he/she will recognize the usual behavior for sleeping.
For others, during the day, parents will learn how to put their baby to sleep easily. As a single dad you will look for a cue that she /he is tired , eyes closing, or she/he is full after eating (quietly relaxed). Using these cues you will lay them down to go to sleep.
Sleep cues for you the single Dad
Once the baby is asleep, try and take a nap. If the baby is relaxed after eating then slow yourself down and show the baby that you intend to go to sleep. This will encourage the baby to go to sleep. Babies like rhythm and body warmth. Don’t be afraid to hold your baby close. Contact encourages bonding. When you are close you can breathe deeply and she/he will do the same. This encourages sleep.
