This is a birthday people of colour world wide should keep in their calender. But it looks like the international agenda doesn’t give it much notice! The 17th August is special. Not only to Jamaicans but all over the world. On this day we celebrate the birth of the most influential Black philosopher of the last 9 decades, nearly 100 years.
As the video below points out, his foresight and understanding of the tragedy suffered by people of colour was and still is clear and powerfully explained. The thing is not many schools have his philosophy built into their agenda. But as black people we should be accoustomed to that. He challenges so many basic so-called truths, it is no wonder.
